Medinah Stay Before Hajj

We normally stay at one of the Mawada group hotels. Approximately 100 meters from Almasjd Alnabawy (Prophet Mohammed’s Mosque, SAWS), 4 people sharing in the room. Men and Women in separate rooms.

Going to Makkah - 1st November / 5th Thul Hijjah

Inshallah we will leave to Makkah by coach. A distance of 450km. At ordinary times it should take 5 hours but during the Hajj it may take up to 20 hours, not all the time will be spent on board the coach.

Makkah stay before Hajj

At Makkah we will stay at our self catering regimental flats at Alrajhi building on Um Alqura street (on the main road to the Haram al Shareef 1.3 miles in distance) again it will be separate accommodation for Women and Men. 4 people sharing in the room, but some of the rooms can accommodate up to 5 persons.

Makkah to Mina - 3rd November / 7th Thul Hijjah

(Dates TBC) we will be ready to go to Mina at 9pm but the coach may arrive at 10, 11, 12pm even through to the early hours of the morning 1, 2, 3 or 4am.

Why should you expect all this delay?

Simple!, Mashallah there will be more than 2 million pilgrims setting off from Makkah to Mina.  Lets do the Maths now, if we divide 2 million by 50 seats on a coach we would need 40,000 coaches. Now multiply by 10 meters for the length of the coach then divide by 1000m (1km), we would need a whopping 400km of road, whereas the distance from Makkah to Mina is less than 10km.

Be patient!

Considering the entire distance between Makkah and Mina is less than 10 km, the Saudi authorities have no choice but to limit the number of coaches, so that a 50 seat coach can make several journeys to form a shuttle like service. Some of you may be able contribute if you are young, able, or fit enough to stand for the duration of the journey which is normally 30 – 40 minutes by coach, again delays are possible.

Mina & Arafat Stay

4th November / 8th Thul Hijjah - we will be at Mina Inshallah

5th November / 9th Thul Hijjah - we will be at Arafat Inshallah. (Light snack meal provided i.e. Bread, cheese & Cucumber).

At the end of the great day of Arafat at approximately 11pm we should leave to Muzdalifa, where we will spend part of the night or we may stay until Fajr prayer.

6th November / 10th Thul Hijjah - we will be at Mina to throw the stones.
7th November / 11th Thul Hijjah - will be at Mina.
8th November / 12th Thul Hijjah - will also be at Mina, later on the day to leave Mina to Makkah.

Back to Makkah

• Flight times are subject to Egypt Air’s confirmation of the flights.
• Some of you will be permitted to stop over in Cairo.
• Please don’t go over 30kg in regards to luggage allowance.
• Our Hajj itinerary has been the same for the past 30 years.
